THE REPUBLICAN HEALTH CARE HORROR SHOW - HD Version

Just like a bad horror movie, and all of it's sequels

  1. This would be funny if it wasn't so...scary?

If you are at all intested in knowing how healthcare is administered in Canada, here's the government site:

Essentially, our rights to healthcare are enshrined in the Canada Health Act. The provinces are required to provide the services outlined in the act. Funding is provided by federal government transfers. In turn, the provinces administer the funds. The medical service providers bill the provincial government. Citizens pay premiums for coverage, which, at least here in BC, are on a sliding scale based on income.

Do you think any of that would ever work in the States? Can you see any of it ever being accepted?

  2. I think the only hope we have of that type of program passing here would be with the complete collapse of the system in place.
People are scared right now about where health care costs are going. More are becoming aware that they could be one serious illness away from bankruptcy. Yet people can still be scared by the tactics the video depicts.

So many Americans are living in the past. They refuse to admit that we no longer have the highest standard of living in the world. We no longer have the best health care in the world. I read a stat a couple years back and we ranked something like 32nd in infant mortality. Behind Bulgaria. Bulgaria? So unless you are among the wealthy are health care not the best.

Even now, with our health care system in chaos, and Democrats in charge. No one has the courage to fight for a government run program.
They are fighting tooth and nail to keep any kind of public plan out of Obama's reform proposals. The insurance lobby, the pharmaceutical industry, is getting weak kneed Democrats to cave.

I am losing faith that anything good will come out of this attempt to fix this problem.
